PetroChina Lanzhou Petrochemical Company is a regional branch of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). Its predecessors, Lanzhou Refinery and Lanzhou Chemical Industry, were both key projects during China's First Five-Year Plan. Since commencing operations in 1958, it has generated over 20 billion yuan in profits and taxes, and has always been renowned for its high-quality products, advanced technology, extensive experience, skilled personnel, and efficient operations, earning it the reputation as the "cradle" of China's refining and petrochemical industries, respectively.
Lanzhou Petrochemical Company integrates oil refining, chemical, and fertilizer production, and is the largest petrochemical enterprise in western China. The company has a crude oil primary processing capacity of 10.5 million tons per year and corresponding secondary processing capabilities, producing over 400 kinds of petrochemical products, including gasoline, diesel, kerosene, lubricating oil, catalysts, and synthetic rubber. It is one of the enterprises in my country with a relatively complete range of petrochemical products. Its petroleum products, synthetic resins, synthetic rubber, and catalysts enjoy a good reputation in domestic and international markets. Currently, Lanzhou Petrochemical Company is one of the three major catalytic cracking catalyst production bases in China.
The national Western Development Strategy has brought tremendous development opportunities to Lanzhou Petrochemical Company. China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) timely proposed the strategic concept of building a large-scale oil refining and chemical base in Lanzhou, and designated Lanzhou Petrochemical Company as a key focus of its investment and development in the west. In the 10th Five-Year Plan and the 2015 long-term vision, it was planned and constructed as one of the four major oil refining and chemical production bases.
From the 10th Five-Year Plan to 2015, Lanzhou Petrochemical Company will follow a three-step approach to promote its overall development, ultimately building itself into a large-scale petrochemical enterprise with advanced technology, strong competitiveness, and significant profitability, making a greater contribution to the value enhancement of CNPC and the country's economic development.
